Stacked

Can’t decide which bracelet to wear, wear them all. With the stacking bracelet trend, I truely feel that arm candy has been transformed. Historically I haven’t been a huge bracelet or ring fan (the only ring I do sport is a simple Cartier nail wedding ring), but I cannot seem to get enough. Bracelets date back as far back as 7,000 years ago. It has been and still is an accessory that has long held a symbolic and decorative place in human culture. Bracelets may be of sentimental value or simply add a bit of colour and style to an outfit on a grey day. With the stacking trend, bracelets have once again been revived. To all the ladies who haven’t yet tried this out, you need it. It adds instant glam to any outfit.

I have stacked various cream, gold and black bracelets on one hand for today’s look. I absolutely love black and lace and in my opinion stacked bracelets add the perfect amount of quirk to my getup. Hopefully this gives you some stacked bracelets inspiration.

SAFW

South Africa’s Fashion Week (‘SAFW’) has really only been something I knew from TV, fashion magazines and the internet. So being invited to attend was pretty huge for me. And so started my SAFW journey! Clothes, hair, make-up? My preparation was real. And so I settled for understated glam, smokey eyes and glowing skin.

The vision of SAFW has always been to nurture an appreciation for South African fashion and create brand awareness amongst consumers both locally and internationally.

After seeing what I did on Saturday evening, I couldn’t be prouder. Well deserved standing ovation House of Ole.

Firstly, South Africa’s designers are beyond talented. Secondly, we are a damn good looking nation. And thirdly, we have street style down to the T. Period.

Silver Skirt Trend

So spring and summer fashion somewhat always leans towards pastels, florals and other cool designs. However this season is also the perfect time to indulge in the metallic fashion trend. A metallic skirt would usually be reserved for dressier events but why not stir things up and tone down your metallic number for daytime use.

I’ve paired by skirt with a fun, lightweight blouse. For evening use, I would suggest pairing the skirt with a darker shaded blouse, statement clutch and stilettos. Metallic skirts are demure enough for day, while the metallic finish offers the right amount of drama for the evening!

The Bodysuit

Aaaah, the bodysuit. How chic and fabulous! Forget about all the horrible pictures you’ve seen of your mom donning her bodysuit in the 80’s (high cut terribleness), our generations version is just amazing! I am obsessed with the way a blouse looks neatly tucked into a pencil skirt, with nothing puffing out over the waistband. So of course, as soon as I came across this bodysuit shirt, I had to have it, to achieve the neatly tucken in awesomeness.

And in all honesty, bodysuits don’t need to be restricted to just corporate wear. Why not try it out with high-waisted jeans or shorts on the weekend? So yes, it has a g-string bottom (care for bum floss anyone), which can be off-putting for most woman, but trust me, that’s one of the nicest features, no untidy tell-tale panty lines. I can get use to that!
