Waterfall Trend Watch

Every winter, I buy an item of clothing with waterfall traits. Each year sees me buying a different colour and style, all in aid of building up my personal collection. This year is no different. And, in my opinion, the waterfall style trenches and cardigans are a winter wardrobe staple. In all its elegance and flattery, the draped collar looks amazing with just about everything.

I tend to find that the waterfall design is somewhat oversized, which is why I suggest always pairing this piece with a belt around the waist. However, that being said, each to her own. Waterfall outerwear also looks amazing left loose for a more boho-chic look.

In today’s look, I have styled my oversized felt waterfall coat with skinny jeans, a waist belt and heels. I have kept my look pretty simple and weekend friendly. But of course you can also style these pieces with pencil skirts and dresses for office glam. The options are endless. Lookout for my post on how I style my waterfall coat during the week. Coming soon!!!

Much Love

Casual Draping

I love casual draping. Just bring out the Grecian Goddess in me why don’t you. Flowy, flattering, feminine. These dresses are everything. But how does one style them. I would’ve in all honesty, loved to have paired my dress today with a pair of gladiator sandals. However, my feet are in a rather embarrassing condition, hence the boots.

I went for a more casual grunge look, with boots and a thick waist belt. I cannot wait to restyle this dress will lots of layered neckpieces and gladiators. One dress, numerous looks, SCORE!

Happy Friday Everyone 🙂

May the weekend be amazeballs!

Printed Pants

Printed pants are a huge trend right now. Well in all honesty, I don’t generally follow every trend to hit the fashion scene, but I think this one is pretty awesome. They can be dressed up or down and hence in my opinion, are perfect. The type I’m wearing today is loose, comfy, and almost feels like pjs. You really can’t go wrong here. I want to wear them everywhere.

When I first bought these pants, I was attracted to the print. Then I got onto thinking about how I was going to style it. Given my hips and butt, I didn’t think I would be able to pull these pants off (I had this misconception that prints would equate to me looking like a hippo), but styled correctly, they are rather flattering. I’ve kept my top a solid colour and paired it with heels for a work friendly look. For a weekend friendly look, strappy sandals would be ideal.

Bohemian Flair

I love fringes. There’s just something about adding a little bohemian, romantic flair to one’s look and of course, I’m doing it in the form of fringes. I have seen it everywhere, from bags to dresses and honestly, I am in love with every piece.

There are so many ways to incorporate this trend into one’s look without looking like you’ve just hopped off a Wild Wild West horse. The key is to keep it simple. There is no need to go bohemian from head-to-toe. Choose one bohemian piece to make a statement. I have incorporated fringed heels into my look. Hope this helps you find some bohemian inspiration!

Tribal Jewellery Trend

Tribal jewellery seems to be an ongoing trend that shows no signs of stopping. Well I am not complaining. Jewellery which features fringing, beading, feathers and graphic prints add a cultural element to ones look. Tribal jewellery also turns a simple outfit into a statement one. I love the idea of layering different tribal accessories. Today I have actually layered my neckpiece with skinny belts.

There are no rules. The point is to embrace your individuality and style and make the look your own.

Obsessed with Pockets

I love functionality. And functionality in clothes has to be my ultimate! I love pockets! Especially for formal clothing. I am always needing space for my access card or cellphone and pockets are perfect. That being said, my look today incorprates a skirt with pockets.

The Boxy Cropped Jacket

Cropped jackets are so trendy right now and perfect for Spring. Breathable, lightweight fabrics stop one from overheating and also provide you with the option to layer on crisp mornings. I think this means the cropped jacket is a Spring essential in my closet.

So today I am channeling 60’s glam, with a boxy white jacket and dress. I love the boxy shape as it’s forgiving to my hourglass shape and helps disguise my midsection.
