I love feathers! And they seem to be everywhere in the fashion world the past few years. They aren’t just confined to prints on fabric, they have been forming part of jewellery and hair extensions too! So no, feathers aren’t just part of costumes on Strictly Come Dancing, in my opinion, they are totally mainstream. And they are the perfect print for winter this season.
Yes I know that its a rather bold print but it makes such a statement with little effort. Why not challenge yourself to add a feather inspired piece into your wardrobe this season, be it a piece of jewellery or an item of clothing. You’ll be surprised at how versatile this design is.
My look today incorporates a feather print dress, sheer stockings and ankle boots. And in all honesty, I wish I could sleep in this ensemble.

So I have always been obsessed with monochrome, and yes it has been around forever and in my closet, it’ll probably stay there forever and here’s why:
It’s absolutely classy and timeless. And everyone knows I love timeless pieces, because you get to wear it whenever you feel like. Chances are we all have a few of these pieces in our closets so now it the perfect time to dig out your pieces which fit this trend.
It looks so effortlessly gorgeous. Everytime. Just the colour combination makes a statement of its own.
You don’t need a million bucks to make this look work. All that matters is that the fit of your pieces are appropriate for your body and that the fabric of your items wears well in the long run.
Monochrome forms the perfect base to easily add a pop of colour to your look. Be it a bold lip colour, bag, jewellery or shoes. My look today incorporates a pop of colour with both my lip colour and bag. I find that I am not always carrying my bag with me during the day, so the lipstick provides the perfect pop of colour for a summer feel.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVE EVERYONE 🙂
For some odd reason, everyone I know seems to be hosting an all white party, so this happens to be the perfect excuse for me to try all white ensembles. And in all honesty, white on white provides one with the perfect canvas to create numerous looks.
- White can be just as flattering as black if it is worn properly. And that being said, no, white does not instantly make you look like you’ve eaten one too many chocolate puddings.
- Do Mix and match different fabrics to add texture to your look. This keeps things interesting and fresh. I’ve mixed denim and cotton today!
- I love white clothing mixed with metallics. It helps keep ones look less clinical.
- Make sure that your white ensemble isn’t tight. This will draw attention to every body flaw possible.
- When wearing white make sure that your under garments are neutral skin tones. White or black can usually be seen through your clothing and looks tacky.

A few seasons ago, jewelled collars became the “IT” accessory. To date, it’s still one of my favourites (studded, sequined, printed, embellished, I’m obsessed with them all). For the DIY-ers, the nice thing about jewelled collars is that you can make them yourself by cutting out from and old shirt or personalize it directly on the shirt with pearls, sequins or studs for signature style. Jewelled collars also offer a gorgeous alternative to necklaces and are bound to make a statement no matter what ensemble you are rocking.

The shift dress (Twiggy be blessed) ticks all my major Spring trend boxes!!! And then I find this piece of perfection in peach (only one of my absolute FAVE colours ever)!!! So, shift dresses were major in the 1960’s and are once again major. Well of course it would be, it is retro and ab fab!
This Spring expect to see shift dresses in vibrant colours, feminine lace and floral prints and oozing femininity. The shift dress is perfect for those busy days when you are after something simple and effortless (and I woke up an hour late this morning, I needed something quick and fuss free so that I could be ready in record time). And the shift dress was ideal. For a casual look team with pretty flats and stockings or leggings if you find the short hemline on these dresses intimidating. For an evening look, pair with heels and layered statement accessories. In addition, shift dresses flatter any body type as they usually have minimal detailing and skim the curves rather than cling to every nook and cranny 🙂
I have kept my look today quite understated, accessorising with a statement cuff and a retro messenger bag. THE VERDICT (well my humble opinion) – Casual Sophistication!!!

So cheers to channelling Twiggy and the weekend of course!!!
Spring 2014 calls for lustrous shine (both day and night). Be it head to toe metallic or a little glimmer, you are sure to stand out in this trend. In my little world, metallic clothing and accessories equates to instant glamour. This Spring, I am injecting glitz into everyday outfits for pure fashion alchemy.
Today, I’ve chosen to shine in metallic shorts (why wait for the sun to set to bring out the glitz). My tip for pulling of metallics during the day would have to be that a little goes a long way. So why not veer towards a pop of metallic. Think a simple miniskirt or shorts. You can even use your accessories to make a statement! Own the look baby!
I’ve tried to mix up my look today with a patterned pair of shorts and a constrasting patterned blouse. I find mixing prints to be a bold style statement and breathes life into any emsemble. So ladies, it’s time to get your shine on, no matter what way you find appropriate!
